6 series aluminum alloy characteristics

The 6-series aluminum alloy consists of magnesium and silicon as the main alloying elements and Mg2Si phase as the strengthening phase. Series 6 is heat treated and strengthened aluminum alloy. The alloy has the advantages of medium strength, high corrosion resistance, no stress corrosion cracking tendency, good welding performance, constant corrosion performance in the welding zone, good formability and process performance. When the alloy contains copper, the alloy strength is close to 2 series aluminum alloy, and the process performance is better than 2 series aluminum alloy. The alloy has good forging properties, but the corrosion resistance is poor.

7000 series aluminum is Al-Mg-Si-Cu Alloy,including 7075 T651 T7351 aluminum pipe,7072 aluminum pipe,7072-T7451 aluminium pipe,This alloy is precipitation hardened to very high strength levels. Alloy 7000 is used in airframe structures and other highly stressed components.

7075-T651 Aluminum plate is an excellent candidate for most processing techniques and offers moderate corrosion resistance. With one of the highest strength to weight ratios for heat treatable alloys, it’s a lightweight material with a semi-smooth surface and a dull mill finish.  Commonly machined to end user specifications, typical applications include aircrafts, marine, motor sports, and commercial grade parts.
