It is also non-magnetic, which eliminates interference with radio frequency (RF) signals that could otherwise cause signal distortion. Nickel, on the other hand, can increase distortion by 50 dBs or more.
The RF transmission properties of nickel white copper are a significant advantage, particularly for applications that require a small contact area and/or a high-speed circuit. The nickel content in the tri-metal coating provides an extremely high level of conductivity, with a lower resistivity and thinner deposit than other copper alloys, which reduces the impedance to the transmitted current.
